Things with Steve and Aspen are finally showing some signs of improvement. They do this "M&M" thing with the colors and he gives them to her. It has been the only few moments that he can share something with her and she doesn't freak out. Truly, he can't even be in the same room as she is or if she hears the garage door, she goes into a panic.
The kids and I went away for an overnight Tuesday to go boating. When we left, she said "goodbye, Daddy" with more emotion than ever before. She will repeat goodbye if the boys are saying it but this time there were self supplied emotions there. When we came back, she was really happy to see him. She bumped her head on the head rest of her high chair and she let him rub the bump. This morning, she found some video games on the floor and brought them to me and say over and over.."Daddy's....Daddy's" and took me by the hand to find Daddy. She handed them to him and said "You're welcome."
This afternoon, we went to the pool and she feel asleep and woke up very hungry. I told her that Daddy had food. We went over to him and it had been eaten already. So, Daddy said, "Mommy will go get you a yogurt. I'm sorry it's gone. I love you." And she replied, "I love you, Daddy." He put his hand out and she touched the palm of his hand. Priceless.

To my lovebug: Sounds like progress is being made with daddy and his little girl. It will take time before she trusts a father figure again. How could any little girl (or big girls) not love that handsome, charming guy? Some day she will hold his hand and proudly tell everyone, "this is my daddy." Finally, he is a daddy to a sweet little girl as well as three special boys, "HAPPY FATHER'S DAY STEVE."

So sweet. Good for him for patiently working and waiting for that relationship to develop. She will probably end up being a Daddy's Girl and won't let him out of her reach. :)
