Quiet....very quiet

My agency's forum has been very quiet. When we first found the forum, there would be multiple posts per day. Mostly these posts were from "soon to travel" families who have recently been delayed. No one from my agency has brought home a baby yet. On one hand, this could be viewed as cautious and sparing families from major in country delays by checking and rechecking everything before continuing. On the other hand, it would be very comforting to see someone from my direct peer group go and come back and hear about their experience.

I believe that regardless of agency or what stage of this great waiting game we are in.....all of us adopting with Vietnam are experiencing very high levels of anxiety. Our new anxiety is waiting for March 2008. I cannot speak at length regarding this due to lack of information (and I am not one to raise Internet hysteria). The way it has been explained to me is that a letter of intent to renew must be submitted by the US six months prior to the renewal date of September 2008. This would put the letter of intent due by March 2008 which is just right around the corner. For me, it would be during the time that I would most likely receive my referral. If our initial time frame applies, we should be home with her by September IF the US/Vietnam relationship should change. It is all in God's hands at this point and we will just have to wait and see.
