One more family from the agency has switched from Vietnam to Taiwan which puts their current wait for a baby in the 20-30 month range. In my opinion, things will straighten out with Vietnam before then. For this family, they needed something concrete and solid to focus on instead of the limbo that Vietnam is putting us all in right now. It is not easy to hang out and wait to see what happens. We are lucky in that we have our family so the wait is completely bearable. Trying to become parents with this roller coaster ride could make anyone go crazy.
Another family went with the domestic program this week. A girl who left early on and went with the domestic program had a birth mother chose her and her husband in the first week that they left the Vietnam program. Last week, the birth mother changed her mind only 4 weeks from her due date...so sad. They had a baby shower scheduled and everything. There is talk of an update and the positive work going on between the two countries but I have yet to receive it. I will comment on it as soon as I do. Another update to the Hague agency list was made on March 28 and yet again our agency was not on it. The relevance of them being on the list will only come to great importance if Vietnam goes with Hague only agencies. This has not been announced but is highly expected by everyone.
