There's a buzz on the forum that there has been a baby girl referral given out. No one has come forward but someone claims that a referral did go out...but to whom?
This would mean one more out of my way and referrals are still coming in. Woohoo! I hope to find out who the lucky family is soon.
part II A family was notified that the family just ahead of them received a referral today for the baby girl. Lisa, the one who was notified and shared this information on the forum, had her dossier logged-in May 25, 2007. She is just two months ahead of us with our log in of July 13. I was truly frightened of things coming to a halt until after the details of the new system are in place but this news is contrary to that fear.
Now another scenario is that referrals will continue to come in as long as the final processing time of 60-90 days can be made before August. Therefore, referrals could come out until May and still finish before closure on August 31, 2008. By June, we may see the end of referrals until the new agreement/Hague agencies policy is solidly in place and operational. For me, I don't believe that we will make it by May but I am excited about seeing as many people as possible who are ahead of me to get their referrals and move us closer to getting our little girl. I would actually prefer to wait and be part of the new system than to barely skate in at the end of the old system. In a perfect world, the old system will go out and the new one will come in without interruption to adoptions.
