This week the Vietnamese government will return over 2,000 dossiers to families in the US. These families spent thousands of dollars and began their adoption process with Vietnam two years ago. This week over 2,000 orphans were dealt a fate of never knowing the family that anxiously awaited them in the United States. This week orphanages in Vietnam lost funding provided to them by US adoption agencies who worked with them during the bilateral agreement.
Let's hope for a quick turn around in policy that would allow adoptions to some day to begin again. During this period of policy change, let's pray for the children who will become an age which will result in them becoming undesirable to adopt.
